Description:
Though they are found everywhere, grasses do have flowers, though tiny and inconspicuous and often confused with sedges and rushes. Portage Park District Botanist and Natural Areas Steward Chris Poling teaches us how to identify grasses.

An indoor introduction to basic grass morphology and recognition of major families that occur in Ohio will be followed by a short walk in a nearby field to identify species.

You are welcome to bring a hand lens or one will be provided.
