Portage Park District Staff and Natural Areas Steward, Bob Lange, cordially invite you to the Portage Park District 2023 Bioblitz.
FYI NEW SPECIAL EVENT: ODNR Director Mary Mertz will be at the event Friday morning at 11:30 am, just before lunch. She will speak about the H2 Ohio funding that helped acquire this property. There will be an official ribbon cutting at this time.
Board members Charles Fletcher and Judy Barnhart are attending this day.

Bird Family Bog Preserve is a 171-acre property in Rootstown Township. Situated along the Breakneck Creek and the Feeder Canal, within the Cuyahoga River watershed, this rolling property features an array of habitats, including mixed age forests, meadows and a variety of wetlands. Wetlands include a 23-acre bog, over 20 acres of riparian wetlands and several vernal pools. Efforts to establish native meadows and reforest old-fields are currently in progress. - Meet at Bioblitz Location (see below)
- Welcome and introductions will be held at 8:30 am
(staff onsite by 7 am). - Morning refreshments will be available & lunch will be provided between Noon and 2:00 pm.

NOTE for early Bird(ers) and other special interests:
Portage Park District Staff will be on site by 7:00 am. Early bird(ers) may begin as early as you wish! Day will wrap up around 4:00 pm.
The PPD welcomes any nighttime survey work or other special interests outside of the planned times and
will gladly do what they can to accommodate it.
