ODNR staff member Adam Wohlever leads us through this mixed hardwood forest dotted with vernal pools and small buttonbush swamps. Sizeable trees amongst a diversity of wildflowers including twin-leaf, bloodroot and home to several plant species associated with northern climates, including goldthread, starflower and spotted coralroot.
Afterwards relocate to the James K. Bissell Nature Center at the Grand River Conservation Campus at Morgan Swamp Preserve at 3973 Callender Road, Rock Creek Ohio, 44084. The center features exhibits depicting the natural history of Morgan Swamp and the Grand River. The nature center is open weekends 1:00-5:00 p.m. There are also self-guided trails.

Directions: Park along Wilderness Trail, a dead end road south off of Callender Rd, the east boundary of Pallister Preserve.
