Midweek Wildflower Walk: Hiram Field Station, Portage County

With the warmth of Spring the forest floor begins to turn green as the native flowers and ferns begin this year's growing season. Come enjoy the Spring season through this easy series of Wednesday evening walks in eight different locations during April and May.

Walks begin at 6:30 pm and are rain or shine.
Guests are always welcome.

Jane O'Brien, Hiram College Adjunct Instructor of Professional and Graduate Studies and Butterfly Hill Garden Manager, will talk about native pollinators and three of Ohio's fruit and nut trees: paw paws, persimmons, and hazelnuts as we walk the grounds observing pollinators in the Ohio State University phenology garden, view a pollinator hotel, and an orchard and nursery. Handouts will be provided and participation opportunities for hands-on construction activities for taking home.
