Metroparks Serving Summit County:  Gorge Metro Park

Rob Curtis, a Metroparks Serving Summit County Park Biologist, will take us on a special adventure to see the state endangered Northern Monkshood.  Please be Advised:  this is a somewhat rugged hike with some deep mud and a 10 ft. descent to the site.   In appreciation and to thank Mr. Curtis for this opportunity, we plan to remove some of the invasive Epilobium parviflorum.

Directions:  Meet at the Main Entrance of Gorge Metro Park (1160 Front Street, 44221) located just West of Rt. 8 in Akron.  From I-76 or I-77:  Take Rt. 8 toward Akron.  Exit at Howe Rd. and go West to Front St.  Turn Right (North) on Front Street and the parking entrance will be on your Left (just past the bridge over the Cuyahoga River).  From there we will carpool to a small lot on the other side of the river.   www.summitmetroparks.org/ParksAndTrails/Gorge.aspx
