Jim Bissell, Cleveland Museum of Natural History retired Curator of Botany Emeritus, leads
this trip to see blooming lupines, Ohio-endangered Bicknell's geranium, and the largest
striped maple in Ohio, which is close to the dimensions of the national champion in Maine.
The 174-acre property supports three endangered plants and several rare invertebrates.
The Native Plant Society was honored to award Jim our
Gentian Award in 2021.

The preserve is on the west side of Poore Road just north of the railroad tracks. There
is a sign at the entrance.
Directions:
- Take I-90 to the Route 193 exit;
- Follow Route 193 north to US Route 20 east;
- Take US Route 20 east to Poore Road;
- Travel north on Poore Road to the Conrail tracks.
