Location: The West Woods Nature Center, Geauga County 9465 Kinsman Road, Novelty 44072 With its interesting living association and despite being found almost everywhere, lichens often go unnoticed. Janet Traub and Jim Toppin with the Ohio Moss and Lichen Association present the interesting symbiotic relationship between an alga and a fungus. A two-hour indoor introductory session with samples to view will be followed by a lunch break before a field foray in search of examples. Bring lunch and a hand lens. Directions: Take Route 87 east from Route 306 in Russell Township approximately 2 miles to the park entrance on south side of the road. Pre-Registration is required for this program.
